Gas Installations
in Paarl

Gas installations in Paarl done the way they are meant to be done: by registered gas installers, to SANS 10087-1, with a Certificate of Conformity in your hand when we leave. Gas geysers, hobs, fireplaces and the cylinder bay and copper line that feed them, priced up front before a single fitting goes on.

Plan Your Gas Installation

Tell us what you want to run on gas and where the cylinders can sit, and we will come back to you with an honest, upfront price that includes the certificate.

Gas Work We Handle

From a single hob connection to a full gas geyser installation feeding the whole house, done by gas installers in Paarl who certify their own work.

Gas Geyser Installation

Instant gas water heaters sized to your household, mounted, flued and connected to the water line, then commissioned and certified before we leave.

Gas Hobs & Kitchens

Hob and oven connections run in copper from the cylinder bay, pressure-tested and sealed, with the isolating valve where you can actually reach it.

Fireplaces & Braais

Built-in gas fireplaces and braais connected and vented properly, so the room stays warm and the combustion air goes where it should.

Cylinder Bays & Gas Lines

The part nobody sees and everybody gets wrong: a compliant cylinder bay, the right regulator, and copper line sized and routed to the clearances the standard asks for.

Certificates of Conformity

A gas CoC issued on completion, and inspections of existing installations that were never certified, for insurance, a sale or an estate manager.

Leaks & Fault-Finding

A smell of gas, a hob that will not hold a flame or a geyser that keeps cutting out. We pressure-test the line, find the fault and put it right.

Why Paarl Went Gas, And What Got Left Behind

Gas arrived in most Paarl homes the same way it arrived everywhere else in the country: in a hurry, during load-shedding. A gas hob so you could still cook through stage 6, then a gas geyser so the family could still shower, and both of them connected by whoever could get there that week. A great many of those installations work perfectly well and have never been certified by anybody. That is fine right up until the day it is not.

The moment it matters is always an insurance claim, a property sale or an estate manager doing an audit. A fixed LPG installation legally has to carry a Certificate of Conformity issued by a registered gas practitioner, and an insurer looking at a fire-damaged kitchen will ask for it. So will the conveyancer when you sell. We are asked for a retrospective inspection at least as often as we are asked for a new installation, and the usual outcome is a short list of things to correct, most often the cylinder bay, and then the certificate.

The cylinder bay is where most of it goes wrong. Cylinders have to stand outside, upright, in the open air, clear of doors, windows and any drain or air vent that could let gas pool somewhere it should not, and clear of the boundary too. The exact distances change with the size of the cylinder, which is why a 9 kg bottle tucked beside a kitchen door is the single most common thing we move. Get the bay right and the rest of a gas installation is straightforward: correctly sized copper, a regulator that suits the load, a pressure test that holds, and paperwork you can hand to anyone who asks.

Gas Installations In Paarl FAQs

The questions we get asked most before a gas installation in Paarl.

Do I legally need a Certificate of Conformity for a gas installation?

Yes. Any fixed LPG installation in South Africa has to be signed off with a gas Certificate of Conformity by a registered gas practitioner. It matters in three moments most people only think about too late: when you claim on insurance after a fire, when you sell the property and the conveyancer asks for it, and when a tenant or estate manager asks to see it. Every gas installation we complete in Paarl gets its CoC issued on the day we finish.

What does a gas geyser installation cost in Paarl?

It depends on three things: the size of the unit, how far the gas line has to run from the cylinder bay to the geyser, and whether the flue can vent straight through an outside wall or needs to be routed. A straightforward outside-wall installation on an existing water line is the cheapest case, and a unit feeding a whole house from a cylinder bay on the far side of the property is the dearest. We quote the whole job, including the CoC, before we start, so the number you agree is the number you pay. Our plumbing prices page explains how we price generally.

Do you do gas installations at Pearl Valley and Val de Vie?

We do. Gas geyser installation services at Pearl Valley, Val de Vie, Boschenmeer and the surrounding estates are a regular part of our week. Estate work has its own rhythm, an access booking at the gate, an estate manager who wants the CoC on file, and rules about where a cylinder bay may sit against a boundary wall, and we handle all of that as part of the job rather than leaving it with you.

Do you install gas hobs and fireplaces, or only gas geysers?

All of them. Gas hobs, gas geysers, gas fireplaces and braais, plus the cylinder bay, regulator and copper line that feed them. Load-shedding pushed a lot of Paarl kitchens onto gas hobs and a lot of homes onto gas geysers, and quite a few of those were connected by whoever was available at the time. If yours has never been certified, we can inspect the existing installation, put right what does not comply, and issue the CoC.

Is a gas geyser cheaper to run than an electric one?

For most Paarl households, yes, and the bigger win is that it heats only the water you actually draw instead of keeping 150 litres hot around the clock. It also keeps working when the power does not. The trade-off is the cost of the cylinders and the fact that it needs proper venting and annual attention. If you are weighing gas against a new electric or solar unit, our geyser installation page sets the options side by side.
